What is break-even ACOS?

Amazon ACOS is ad spend divided by attributed ad sales. Break-even ACOS estimates the maximum ACOS at which advertising cost would consume the contribution available before advertising.

Break-even ACOS = pre-ad contribution profit ÷ selling price × 100

Why target ACOS should usually be lower

Break-even means approximately no contribution profit remains after advertising. If you want profit after ads, your working target ACOS normally needs to sit below break-even.

Use real cost data

Use actual landed cost and current Amazon fees wherever possible. Recalculate whenever price, fees, VAT treatment or sourcing costs change.
